Good day siblings in Christ,
There are a few announcements for the community this week. The first is that beginning in November with All Saints Sunday, we will begin scheduling readers again. We want to start opening up worship again with more voices and sounds, so we continue along that journey.
The second announcement is that Sunday, October 31, is Reformation Day. It is a great day to wear red and it is a time to talk about the Lutheran Church. I usually diverge from the texts that week to talk about church life. It is a great celebration day!
The final announcement is that tonight at 7:00 p.m. is the beginning of a new Bible study on gratitude. We will meet in the lower level of the parish hall, or you may join remotely using the Zoom link in my earlier email. Some have asked what text we will be studying. I will base a lot of the study around Ecclesiastes. It is a self-created study, so help me test it out. There will also be a recorded online version soon. I just need to sit down and record it.
I am aware that our live online Sunday worship services on YouTube have not been working reliably. I want to give it one more week and may have more to say about it after that. Live streaming of services on Facebook continues to work well.
Take care all,
Pastor Johnson
