Good day siblings in Christ,
There should be Bible study tonight.
I received joyous news yesterday as I passed the defense of my dissertation. It was a 2-hour defense, and it went very well. They recognized one of the difficulties with the subject I wrote about, using play in adult Christian faith formation, was there was little writing or research on the topic. I even narrowed my focus to Gen Xers and Millennials; there is even less on the subject. I had to take books written 20 years ago about what might happen to these two generations and use what actually happened as the basis of my research. It was a tough task, but I was commended for it. I will have edits, as expected, but they should be done within a month or so. It was a joyous day. For official documents, my title will now be The Rev. Dr.
There was an announcement about Living Lutheran this morning. As of December, they will be ceasing production of the printed magazine and will go all digital. What was cited was the increased cost of production for printed material and the staff needed to do such a format. Last year, our budget eliminated paying for the magazine, but I know some members chose to subscribe. Be aware of this change if you are a subscriber.
