Good day siblings in Christ,
This Sunday we will have the Service of the Word with Deacon Lee Ann, as I head to Spies, PA to share my Native American story with a friend’s congregation. The ELCA asked congregations to research tribes their land sits on, partner with a local tribe, and learn about Native culture. My friend’s congregation has been doing just that, so she has been inviting Native leaders to come talk.
This week is also the annual Bishop’s Retreat, so I will be attending that this week and will be unavailable for office hours. The retreat always focuses on education with this year’s topic being how we communicate the Gospel.
I am happy to say the Congregational Assessment is closed at this point. The council will receive the full report in about a week’s time. We had a total of 32 survey participants, which is a very nice sample size for our congregation. I’m sure we will get some good results.
Our annual meeting is on November 17. If you have a report due, it is due this Monday. Reports will be available on November 3, two weeks before the meeting.
