Good day siblings in Christ,
Here we are at the end of Christmas as of Sunday and the beginning of Epiphany as of Monday. Epiphany Day is to recognize the day the visitors from the East arrived to Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. The season of Epiphany includes readings about who Jesus is. My little joke is throughout the season of Epiphany, you should be saying, “ah ha” as another revelation about who Jesus is shared in the readings.
On January 12, we are going to have a little fun. We had one of these in the past and I wanted to bring it back for another year. We are going to do a White Elephant gift exchange. If you would like to participate, bring a wrapped gift under or around $5 and we will place them on the table. One by one an individual will either grab something from the table or steal a gift from someone else. By the end, everyone who participates has a gift and it is all fun.
In a more serious activity, sometime around the end of the month, the council will gather in small groups during coffee hour to talk about the results of the survey we had in the Fall through Holy Cow. We received the results about two months ago, but with all the activities around the holidays, we wanted to wait until we could slow down before we discussed the results. They were very positive and the discussion should be a great one. To allow for congregational conversation, the small groups will be led by the council members and I will step out of the conversation. We hope you will join us during this time.
