This Sunday is Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week. Just a friendly reminder that from Palm Sunday to April 27, we will need to make, prepare, and print seven different services. If something is needed in the office and it can wait, please please hold off until after Holy Week. Thank you for your advanced consideration.
This Maundy Thursday, a good friend and colleague Pastor Lena will lead a dinner church at 6:00 p.m. This is a mix of worship and a meal, hence the earlier start time. We gather for confession, move into the fellowship hall for one aspect of communion, eat a meal, have dessert, sing, and come together to strip our altars. It is a moving service. The focus is on Mediterranean food and if you have a way of preparing it with a vegan option, that is a bonus as our guest is vegan. Come out and we can experience this service together. This Sunday is the LAST day to sign up for final numbers.
There will be a pre-recorded sermon for Thursday. If we were to stream live, you would watch us eat dinner and that is not a good experience. I will record the sermon portion for the day.
In July, there is a retreat with Faith Lutheran at Koinonia. I will be leading the weekend and Our Saviour is invited to join. It is $252 per person for two people to share a room for two nights. If you want a single room add $100. That cost includes 4 meals – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday. - Good Friday – Worship at 7 p.m.
