The party continues!

Good day siblings in Christ,

It was such an uplifting and exciting week last week and I am still buzzing from it. Thank you to all of our volunteer musicians and singers, to Phill for his talent, and especially to our altar guild for all the hard work they put in to make the sanctuary beautiful. It was certainly a wonderful week.

The great news is the party continues this weekend with a wedding! Following worship this Sunday the wedding of Michael and Hannah will take place at 1:00 p.m. We will be transitioning from worship to the wedding in the sanctuary and will still have a brief coffee hour. If you are planning to stay for the wedding, the only thing we ask is to help us leave the front two parking spots open in front of the church for Hannah’s car, so she can exit easily and enter the worship space. We will be putting cones out to reserve the spot. There will be 110 guests, so it may be standing room only, but you are invited to witness this wonderful event.

Tomorrow, the sanctuary and fellowship hall will be in use for a funeral at 2:00 p.m. Some of you may know Matilda and will want to be with her as she mourns and pays tribute to her mother. Members of the church are invited to attend the funeral. The service will be on our YouTube channel by request.

The final piece of big news is by the end of next week, we will know who our new Bishop will be as of August. At the end of next week, Deacon Lee Ann, Marilyn G, and I will be heading to Long Island to discern and vote for our next Bishop. Following the event, we will know who the newest Bishop is. Please pray for the process.

The week of May 4, I will heading to a training to become a Reflective Pastoral Supervisor. I will be completely unavailable as it is an intensive week long course. There will be a pastor on call for emergencies and Deacon Lee Ann will be available for coverage as well. My schedule for the next few weeks will be a little crazy and things will clear up after the second week of June when my schedule returns to normal.

In July, there is a retreat with Faith Lutheran at Koinonia. I will be leading the weekend and Our Saviour is invited to join. It is $252 per person for two people to share a room for two nights. If you want a single room add $100. That cost includes 4 meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday. Here is the registration form and if you are paying, it is to Faith, Syosset and not Koinonia. Here is the registration. https://forms.gle/JpoCK9NPFr9fj7YU9.
